Given the condition of the current economy with so many lay-off, salary cuts, reduction in benefits.
My philosophy is to do what is asked from me, obviously in reason. I believe that for every time I say ‘no’ there are 20 other people stand, waiting to say ‘yes’. There are so many people being replaced by foreign countries willing to complete the work at a lower cost with promises of efficiency.
I’ve gotten to a point that it annoys me that people complain constantly at work. I understand that companies have the upper hand with demands. They are expecting people to do more work than ever before. Employees that are laid off are not replaced their work is usually divided among the remaining employees. But I would rather work a few extra hours each week than to be laid-off. That age-old defense of “that’s not my job” no longer exists; companies are running lean. Getting the job done is a collective effort.
1. Do you think you should not have to do something that is not apart of your job title/ duties. Such as take meeting minutes, make a modification, that you design, to a vehicle, visit supplier plants, etc.?
2. Would you be willing to work a few extra hours, with pay, to keep your job?
3. Do you think it is manipulative for companies to ask you stay after work to complete task that are behind in schedule?

Do I Scratch Your Back With Hopes You'll Scratch Mine Back
A little background information...
A couple of weeks ago the administrative assistant sent out a message to everyone in the office to let her know when supplies were low. I suggested that she create a list for people to write down what is low or missing and keep the list it the supply room. The list would eliminate duplicates as well as reduce the number of people going into lobby to give her information. Her response was "Good idea, but I don't always go in the supply room". The supply room is around 10-20 feet from her desk.
Today the same administrative assistant (we only have one) called to ask if I could help her make labels for the supply cabinets because she was swapped with work. I wanted to say do you know what I do for a living and you want me to help you with your work... do you not think I have enough work on my plate to help you with your labels that are apart of your job. I'm sure if I asked my manager that it would be turned down. So I told her I would come up with a solution and get back with her. She is definitely are one of those individuals that are mad a life and you NEVER know how she will respond. Normally, I'm quite helpful but I think she is being lazy. What are your thoughts.. am I too high on my high horse and should help her OR am I right for not wanting to help her??? Thoughts??

Has one of the 7 Deadiest sins gotten us to where are now? GREED
Or is it simply waste, lack of seeing the "big picture", or other??
Greed - excessive or reprehensible acquisitiveness: "Having lost all sense sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more" Ephesians 4:39
After watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kim Kolciak pulled out her J.P. Morgan Black America Express card in which members are required to spend a minimum of $250,000 a year. I began to wonder what someone could buy with $250K a year. For $250K, you could get a new house every year, you could buy several cars (or one luxury vehicle). What I'm noticing is that the $250K, spent by celebrities, heiress, entrepreneurs is jewelry, clothes, exotic trips, and mistresses, are items that don't return value/ items that depreciate.
$250,000 could buy at least 5 homes for homeless families, $250K could put food in the mouths of several homeless people, $250K could be mortgage payments for families that are now unemployed, BUT to spend it on clothes, shoes, purses that will never be worn /or worn only once, spent on jewelry, and other material items. I understand that if you work hard to get the money then you are entitled to spend it on what ever you see fit... but it makes me wonder how you can justify blowing money with so many needy people around you, with so many tragedies around, so much hate and destruction. It saddens me to think that there are Black Card Holders out there that don't give from their heart - their contributions come from not-for-profit benefits held by colleagues that they want to impress or simply for tax right off... not much thought given to the cause.
I'm not a fan PETA, I watched on those HBO documentaries; there was a meeting on how to stop people from having turkey for Thanksgiving dinner... I'm not sure how much money was spent on the campaign but what if that money had been used to feed the homeless, needy, the unemployed... instead of coming up with ways to stop people from eating meat... why not come up with ways to feed people... spend the money feeding people with animal free products. Isn't it easier to simply provide a solution?
Mark 8:36.. what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the word, and lose his own soul.

Desperate Housewives (09-27-09)

This season premiere of Desperate Housewives had its moments and some very good but overall lack the luster of previous seasons. It starts off with the wedding and we find out that (drum roll) Mike marries SUSAN! Okay, as if we didnt already have more than a hunch that this was going to happen. Then the show goes back 8 weeks to show everything that happened leading up to that point. We see how Susan and Mike rekindled their romance and how Mike let Katherine down. Susan tried to avoid the confrontation with Katherine which led to her wearing her wedding dress and almost getting a pot of red sauce on it then ultimately showing up at her wedding, threatening for Susan to apologize in the middle of the wedding or else, being locked in a closet then making her appearance and still not forgiving Susan after she apologized at the church. Then there was Gabby who was not interested in taking Carlos' niece in. She was very hard on her, watching what she was wearing and embarassing her at a party but at the end she was doing it all because she cared and wish she had someone like guide her and signed the papers making her a legal guardian. Let's not forget the new family. They have some secrets and were connected to the choking of Julie at the end but was I the only one who thought Mary-Ann from True Blood used her claws to scratch the lady's back? Yikes! My favorite two moments came from Lynette and Bree. We see Bree in the midst of starting an affair, very out of her character. That should be very interesting. Lynette's story is very delicate and interesting. She already has 4 child and they are all almost of the house when she finds out that she is pregnant with twins. TWINS! She is not happy and tells Tom that she doesnt love the babies. I think that many women may have this feeling and I am glad that the writers are touching on this subject.
Fall Fashion Trend - Thigh High Boots

One of the 2009 Fall Fashion Trends is thigh high boots. This trend which was once reserved for street walkers is now chic and very trendy. The key with this look is balance. You do not want to wear a pair of these babies with a very low cut shirt. You want balance. We see how the fashion diva Jennifer Lopez is wearing the look with a wool coat and hat. The boot is the main focus of the look and this is very important. She looks sexy and chic without looking slutty (sorry, for lack a better word :-)).
Question of the day based on Alicia Keys and Swiss Beatz-right or wrong?
Could you date a guy going through a divorce?

Grey's Anatomy

Tonights episode of Grey's Anatomy was probably one of the best and most emotional episodes yet-I cried the whole time (happy and sad tears). Now lets think back to the finale-we found out that John Doe was George O; 007. Izzy was dying in Kerev's arms. Meridith and Derek got married via posted notes and a number of other things. This episode tells us who dies between George and Izzy which wasn't such a surprise given all the chatter in the news about George leaving the show. But the surprise of the night was the merger of Seatle Grace and Mercy-I am still confused so does the Chief still have his job or was the merger his idea and thats how he kept his job??? Oh, Christina and Owen are working things out through his therapy sessions to overcome his PTSD. Mark moves accross the hall from Callie which causes a little bit of jealousy with Lexie.
For the medicine, this show played more on the characters than the case-which was fine. Miranda had a case of a woman who was traveling with some shady friends had an accident and lost her arms and one leg. They were able to save the arms but not the leg so she faced feeling like she should be dead over alive. The spunky pediatric doc-Callie's girlfriend received a hard case of boy with back pain which she couldn't figure out but finally did of course.
This episode was wonderful, seeing the emotion of everyone when Izzy was saved and the emotion of when Izzy lived as well as Callie's standing up forself and taking a new job...which brings us to the question of the day.
If you know you should get a promotion or feel underappreciated at work-how do you communicate this to your superior or do you say anything????

Real Housewives of Atlanta (09-10-09)

Wow so this episode, a lot was going on. Lets start with Lisa. I will give Ms. Wu credit for actually putting on a fashion show unlike Sheree but I wasnt feeling the fashion. Not quite my taste but to each his own. Now Ms Sheree, I dont know...my theory is that when people get so mad when asked a question they are lying and she did get really mad at Tracy. At the end of the day, it doesnt matter if she did it intentionally or not. Plus, why does she think that she is this fashion goddess? She is not fashionable to me. I never see myself wondering where to get what she's wearing on these episodes. And then she talked about the crowd in Lisa's fashion show when she wore jeans and a hoodie to the fashion show. I dont see her wearing this to her son's concert or the fashion show. Side eyeing her. Kim, wigalicious Kim. Judging by her wigs I wouldnt want to get one. I guess she is tired of tricking and wants to make some honest money. I honestly think that she should become a brunette. The darker hair took some of the trashyness away. And Nene, it was good how her and Greg intervened with their son because he is at a crucial age when he needs to start making good decisions for his future. Her and Dwight at the fashion show were looking for every flaw...especially Dwight. Maybe tell her days after the show, not when she is on a high. Tres tres de classe.
Tonight's tv lineup
I am ready for some eyes popping, lips busting, who gone check me boo?, fashion with no fashions, dreadful entertainment tonight. This can only be offered by the housewives of ATL. Seems like Sheree will be hating on Lisa cause her fashion show will actually have some fashions. Can't wait!
America's Next Top Model...for Shorties

I am sorry, as a long time viewer of ANTM I am so not impressed with this season. And its not because the girls are under 5'7", it is just not good. I dont really see "model" in any of the girls. There is a lack of talent within the group that was chosen. I do have a few favs out of the group and I would probably be lying if I said that I am not going to watch this season because after all, what else comes on Wednesdays at the moment but still, I am not impressed. I am just waiting for ANTM plus size model to come on. I now that season is on its way.

Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (08-30-09)

Okay so tonight episode was okay. I miss Kim K's dark hair. She's a gorgeous gal who can rock both looks but the dark is definitely her strong point. Its the Kardashian signature. It was funny to see her in a drunk stupor. She needs to definitely stay away from the alcohol but at least she was more fun than usual.
So surprise, surprise! Kourtney misses Scott. I guess if we all didnt know that she was pregnant with his baby then it may have been somewhat of a surprise but then again, not really.
And Khloe, who cant love her? She is so over the top and crazy, silly, fun.
Stay tuned for next week for mroe fun with those Kardashian dolls.
True Blood (08-30-09)

OMG! I am obsessed with this show, always something new. I am mad that I didnt remember that the little girl version of herself that Tara saw last season had those black eyes. IT ALL MAKES SINCE!!
Okay so, for the run down:
Okay so Jason and Andy need to stop being captain "save a town"...lol, I cant. Although it makes it funny to me. That leadership conference really worked I see, lol.
Tara is really fighting for her man I see. You really can't blame her...haha
Tara's mom is whew! I mean there are no words.
Lafayette was shook! I feel bad for him. And now he is hynotized like the rest of the town, tisk, tisk, tisk.
Bill was trapped by the queen. It looks like he is going to make Sam be the ultimate sacrifice for the town. Stay tuned...
Eric is a mess but I really like his character. Does anyone else think that he has a sexy vamp appeal? Maybe that is just me, lol.
Sookie...last and certainly not least. I was honestly concerned for her when the queen said that Maryann and her kind like to sacrifice supernatural humans.
I can't wait until September 13th! A week without this show. What is a sister to do?
Sunday night tv!
Sunday has become my favorite night of tv this summer. On HBO there is True Blood and Entourage, on MTV there is ABDC, over on E! there is Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami...have I missed any? My DVR is on overload.
